How to stop replyy.com spam on facebook mobile album

okay i am making this post because of my own stupidity and carelessness.

As you know free stuff always interests us no matter how stupid they are … they do have a “black hole” kinda attractio, So what happened was..

i was trolling around on Facebook then suddenly i can across a picture :

Now after seeing that pic on a guy’s MOBILE ALBUM whom i trusted.. i thought WTH.. no harm in trying right? so i went for it…..and filled up all the registration stuff liked the link and the second page showed this:

and also had a nice little video down showing how to do it…. and boy i wish i had never given that info…. what is did was redirect me to a page where it wanted me to fill a survey…yah a paid survey!! Sensing this was a spam i kinda quit…..

but a while later i found couple of new pics in my MOBILE ALBUM!! yes the the mobile facebook ID which i had entered above was getting spammed by that spam site!! I was like WTMF!! and kinda brainstormed for a while.. its not an app which can be “access revoked”  …. and after a while found the solution :D so here it goes….. what u do is

1. Go to https://www.facebook.com/mobile  you’ll get a page like this Click on “FIND OUT MORE” on the bottom-right.

2. Click on “REFRESH YOUR UPLOAD EMAIL” like in the image above

and that’s it!! you have a new UPLOAD EMAIL and the old one is invalid :D and no more SPAM IN YOUR MOBILE ALBUM!!! :)

Nokia launching 3 new Symbian Belle Powered smartphones

Nokia 700, Nokia 701 and Nokia 600 smartphones introduce latest Symbian software update while new NFC-enabled stereo Bluetooth headset takes advantage of NFC pairing and sharing functionality

While all three smartphones contain recognizable Nokia features, they each represent a very distinct set of priorities to allow users to choose what matters most in a smartphone. The most compact touch screen monoblock smartphone in the world (Nokia 700); a sleek and stylish smartphone with the world’s brightest mobile display for indoor or outdoor use (Nokia 701), and Nokia’s loudest entertainment smartphone (Nokia 600) all bring firsts to the Nokia product portfolio.

Nokia 700: Nokia’s smallest smartphone

At only 50 cubic centimetres, weighing 96gm and at 110 x 50.7 x 9.7 mm, the Nokia 700 not only becomes Nokia’s most compact smartphone in the Symbian range, it is the most compact touch monoblock smartphone in the world. What it lacks in size it makes up for in functionality, with single-tap NFC sharing and pairing capabilities, a 1Ghz processor, 3.2 inch AMOLED screen ClearBlack display, 2GB of internal memory (with the option of using a 32GB microSD card for a total of 34GB), HD video capture and 5MP full focus camera with LED flash. The Nokia 700 is also Nokia’s most eco-friendly smartphone. With a long battery life, extensive use of eco-friendly materials and features to minimize battery consumption, it is the perfect smartphone for any environmentally-conscious smartphone user.

Nokia 701: Nokia’s brightest smartphone

The Nokia 701 is a sleek, slim smartphone incorporating the world’s brightest ever mobile phone display, based on a 3.5 inch ClearBlack display that makes it perfect for indoor and outdoor use. It also has active noise cancellation for the clearest sound quality and, like the other new smartphones, provides single-tap NFC pairing and sharing capabilities, allowing content to be shared and sound to be streamed wirelessly to headphones and NFC-enabled speakers.

Based on the popular Nokia C7 design, the Nokia 701 smartphone also has a 1GHz processor, 8MP full focus camera with dual LED flash and 2 X digital zoom, 2nd front-facing camera and HD video capture. It comes with 8GB internal memory and the possibility to increase to 40GB by installing a 32GB microSD card.

Nokia 600: Nokia’s loudest smartphone

The Nokia 600 smartphone delivers a big sound and a big personality in a small package and is Nokia’s loudest at 106 Phons. With built-in FM radio antenna for listening to radio without headphones and FM transmitter that makes it possible to broadcast music from your phone to any FM radio, the Nokia 600 is a music-lover’s dream. With 60 hours of music playback time, an incredibly powerful internal loudspeaker and the ability to also stream music wirelessly to NFC-enabled accessories, it is the perfect smartphone to get the party started.

Available at a lower price point than the Nokia 700 and Nokia 701, the Nokia 600 still comes with a 1 GHz processor; 5MP full focus camera with LED flash and HD video capture, and 2GB of internal memory with ability to increase to 34GB using a 32GB microSD card.

All of these are Symbian Belle(the latest of the Symbian OS) powered phones!! now lets see what they have for us.

Facebook announces new privacy measures

Facebook has just announced new privacy measures that will give its users more control on everything related to them, right from pictures in which they are tagged to what others can see on your profile page to who can see posts shared by you. The move, which would be welcomed by users, can be seen as a response to Google+, which is being viewed as the biggest threat Facebook has witnessed so far. Hit the break to check out new privacy features on Facebook.

The first major change would enables users to control who can see what on their profile page. Users will be able to set controls for individual components like updates, albums, etc. with a simple drop-down menu. Earlier, one had to dig into the complicated Settings menu to figure these out. The same drop-down menu (public, friends, custom) is highly inspired by Google+, which offers the same settings. Users will also be able to edit their privacy setting on an update after posting it, just like they can do on Google+.

My favorite update, however, would be the ability to approve tagged photographs before they reflect on the user’s profile page. Plus users can choose to approve tags by friends in their photo album before they become visible. This would enable users who are not friends to tag anyone’s photos. While this could be handy, I can foresee a lot of spam. I won’t be surprised if Facebook revokes the latter part soon enough. And finally, users will no longer have to ‘Check In’ from Places and will be able to tag locations to virtually anything.

These are by far the biggest changes Facebook has implemented in one go and demonstrates how big a threat the world’s largest online social network considers Google+ to be. Considering Google+ is still in beta, expect a game of catch-up taking place on both networks. Eventually, it will be the users who will benefit.

Nokia Developer Page Defaced by Indian Hacker

Nokia Developers Site “developer.nokia.com” was Defaced by a indian hacker who goes by the name “pr0tect0r AKA mrNRG“. The sub domain of Nokia was defaced and another page “http://www.developer.nokia.com/Community/Discussion/ajax.php” was also redirected towards some custom script which would screw up your browser upon opening the page.

pr0tect0r also left a message on the defaced nokia developer pager which read:

“LOL, Worlds number 1 mobile company but not spending a dime for a server security! FFS patch your security holes otherwise you will be just another antisec victim. No Dumping, No Leaking!! “
Apparently this message was coupled with a Homer Simpson image provided above.

It seems Nokia is being hit from every side nowadays… the site which was defaced was not hosted at Nokia center but from a third party location which could explain the light security and the breach but still not excusable.  People having Credit Card attached to their OVI account should be worried…. well no one is secure on the web nowdays
